Tea Tree oil is an essential oil that is generally known to treat pimples. This is mainly due to its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antiseptic properties.

Side effects, risks
Tea tree oil is considered generally safe.
– However, when used in high concentration it can cause; flaking, rashes, itchy skin, skin irritations, dryness
-An allergic reaction is possible. Before using the product, always do a patch test.
– One study found that there is a link between the use of tea tree oil and gynecomastia in prepubescent boys. After stopping its use, gynecomastia resolved in boys.
– Do not apply tea tree oil alone. Dilute it with a carrier oil ( such as grapeseed oil, argan oil, olive oil, rosehip seed oil..)
– Be careful if you are willing to use essential oils around the eye area, it can lead to irritations when exposed to sun.
– Do not apply tea tree oil close to your eyes.
– Do not use tea tree oil if you are pregnant or if you have hormone-sensitivities.
-Avoid oral use of tea tree oil, it is toxic when swallowed. (It can lead to severe side effects such as a decrease in the level of consciousness, a lack of muscle control, and ataxia)
Patch test!
If you are willing to use tea tree oil always patch test first and wait at least 24h to se if your body negatively reacts to it.
If any irritation or negative reaction occurs do not use it.
How to use it?
– Always always dilute tea tree essential oil with a carrier oil (Such as grapeseed oil, argan oil, olive oil, rosehip oil..).
– for every 1 drop of tea tree oil make sure there is at least 13 drops of carrier oil.
-Diluting tea tree essential oil with a carrier oil will decrease the risk of skin irritations.
– Do not apply tea tree oil close to your eyes.
